2023 YEAR OF THE WATER RABBIT

Introduction to the Year of the Yin Water Rabbit

Welcome to the Year of the Rabbit, whose docile and diplomatic traits foretell a calmer year ahead. The Water Rabbit is a speedy creature an animal of flight, but it is also an animal of diplomacy often choosing the path of least resistance. In situation of conflict the Rabbit prefers peaceful negotiations to outright battle.

In comparison to the Tiger, the Rabbit is more agreeable, often preferring tact and negotiation over outright hostility, but while the Rabbit is less fierce, it is also as cunning as a fox.

In 2023, Lunar New Year falls on January 22, but the changeover of the ruling zodiac sign from the Tiger to the Rabbit year will take place on February 4 at 10:43am. The elements that are present are those that dominate the year and in 2023 the elements are Water and Wood. This also means that there are three absent elements – Fire, Earth, and Metal.

The elements appearing each year are significant because these elements will interact with each other and influence the growth of the economy, political situations, climatic changes, and general life.

The two elements representing this year, Water and Wood elements, have a productive synergy and are superficially deemed as auspicious. It is superficial because of the three missing elements and therefore the cycle of birth is not complete.

The absence of elements in year chart of 2023 indicated another unbalanced year, suggesting continued instability and disorder. A need to bring things back into balance.  A lack of Metal and Earth, which represent Resources and Power, this suggest there is a lack of reserves and a deficiency in strong leadership. Respectively, present ever evolving challenges despite the year seeming more subdued.

According to the Chinese 5 Element Theory, the Yin Water is akin to raindrops, dewdrops, streams, and the still body of water in wells, ponds, and lakes. Yin is feminine energy. Water is wisdom in the Chinese Five Element Theory and is represented by the colour black or dark blue, and its natal location is the North.

The Water element acts as a resource for the Wood element and it symbolizes growth. However, the drawback is the three absent elements, which indicate that there will be a limitation to how well the economy can perform.

Some of the industries represented by the Wood element, such as education, horticultural, herbal, fruit, fashion, carpentry, and publishing industries, will have a busier time.

The Rabbit, is the fourth Chinese animal sign in the Chinese Astrology system, belongs to the element of Yin Wood, and is represented by the symbol of flowers, grass, vines, and plants.

Based on the Chinese 5 Element Theory, each element also represents different parts of the body, and the Yin Wood represents the liver, the neck, and the backbone. With the absence of the Fire and Earth elements in 2023, illnesses that will be more prominent are those related to the liver, kidneys, veins, the neck, and the back.

The year of the Rabbit is traditionally associated with the home and family. It is also associated with artistic pursuits, diplomacy, and keeping the peace.

In 2023, the centre of the Lo Shu grid is occupied by the Flying Star 4. 4 becomes the dominant star of the year, which casts its influence over every person in every sector of every space, in every part of the world. As the Flying Star 4 is the Relationship Star, this suggests that people will get along better with one another, and successful new alliances and partnerships can sprout up across the globe. After a year of grappling with power tussles and conflict that have brought on all kinds of problems, working together may be just what is needed for the world to move forward.

2023 YEAR OF THE WATER RABBIT

Chinese metaphysical studies use the “farmer’s calendar” or “Hsia calendar.” The Five Elements in the Chinese Calendar represent everything in the universe.

  • Metal
  • Water
  • Wood
  • Fire
  • Earth

This relationship helps predict global and personal events. Every person’s birth chart contains all four elements, known as “Paht Che”, Bazi, or “Four Pillars of Destiny.” The elements reveal a person’s fate. They interact, which causes good and bad relationships, health issues, success, etc. From there, you can predict a person’s fortune based on their birth date. By doing so, you can multiply good luck and minimize bad luck.

The Five Elements are believed to be the basic components of everything in the universe, including sounds, colours, shapes, directions, numbers, emotions, organs, etc. When you understand the Five Elements’ complex relationships, you understand the theory of life.

Three cycles define the interaction.

  1. Productive Cycle
  2. Exhaustive Cycle
  3. Destructive Cycle

The elements are either good for us and each other, or they exhaust or destroy us. The Earth’s Paht Chee, Bazi, or “Four Pillars of Destiny” chart changes yearly based on the date’s elements.

In the Hsia calendar, 2023 is symbolized by two Chinese characters: Yin Water sitting on top of Wood-Rabbit. Yin Water is the Heavenly Stem (the character on the top), and the Rabbit is the Earthly Branch (the character on the bottom). The Rabbit represents wood. Water births Wood in the Five Elements cycle.

The year will be more harmonious if two elements are in the birth cycle and have a supportive relationship. The 2023 Water-Wood elements configuration will help resolve conflict and bring international harmony.

The warring countries’ conflict should end, bringing peace and less tension. But, unfortunately, it won’t end conflict and war, and only the fight may go underground. Tension and protests will continue. Assassinations, coups, and terrorism. President John Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, the year of the Yin Water-Rabbit.

Yin water is the 5 elements’ most modest type.

The Rabbit is… Best with Dog, Goat, and Pig.

And Worst with Rooster and Rat.

Four Pillars of Destiny

Rabbit-born people (1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 201, 2023) “offend the Grand Duke.” You offend the year’s energy. To reduce the negative influence, wear a Dog pendant.

Kendrick Lamar, Michael Jordan, Johnny Depp, Elliott Page, Maria Sharaova, Sting, Jeff Bezos, Tiger Woods, Milla Jovovich, Novak Djokovic, Tobey Maguire, Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore, Mariska Hargitay, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Cage, Seal, Tina Turner, Lisa Kudrow, John Cleese, Kurt Russell, Brad Pitt, and Bob Geldof are offending

Rooster is the Rabbit’s unfavourable animal sign. Those born in the Year of the Rooster (1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017) clash with it. Clashes cause turbulence, movement, accidents, and big changes. It’s a good year to travel and change jobs, offices, or homes. Therefore, you must wear the Dog pendant for protection and avoid risky sports like fast driving, flying, skydiving, and parachuting.

Eric Clapton, Meghan Markle, Beyonce, Jaye Z, Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, Harry Styles, Serena Williams, Rodger Federer, Jennifer Lopez, Matthew McConaughey, Rami Malek, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gwen Stefani, Paris Hilton, Natalie Portman, Ivanka Trump, and Britney Spears are Rooster-born.

You would clash if you were born on Rooster Day but not in the Rooster Year. Jodie Foster, Camilla, Matt Damon, Mick Jagger, Jamie Oliver, Kevin Spacey. This clash is even worse, and you could have a difficult year. This conflict can affect your marriage or opposite-sex relationship.

Dog, Goat, and Pig combine with Rabbit. Animals are in harmony.

The Rabbit is a “Peach Blossom” or “Flower of Romance” that promotes entertainment, art, beauty, and romance.

Yin water is a “nobleman and academic star.” This means babies born in 2023 will have intellectual and innovative qualities.

Peach Blossom brings sex and romance, especially for Tiger, Horse, Dog, or Dog-born people. In addition, it promotes entertainment, movies, singing, art, and beauty. With Rabbit as an Academic star, culture will boom.

“Peach blossom” year brings sex scandals. Rabbit and Rat, both “Flowers of Romance,” is in penalty relationships, which means romance scandals.

Danger in 2023

Rabbit vs. Rooster. Wood and metal clash. More car, train, and plane crashes will result. Fire controls air travel. Without fire in 2023, air traffic disasters may increase. In a water-and-wood year, Earth is weak. More natural disasters are possible.

Rabbit and Rooster combine wood and metal. A rooster is like a knife cutting wood. So, more stabbings and surgeries. The Rabbit is yin wood, which affects the neck and back, so back-breaking accidents increase.

The Rabbit clashes with the Rooster and is penalized by the Rat in Four Pillars of Destiny.

Small metal and wood clash like a dagger cutting into bones. People with a rooster in their Four Pillars are more prone to small bone injuries, especially in the limbs. Rabbit is yin wood, which represents our neck and back. When a Rooster and Rabbit clash, back and neck problems are common. Many examples show that such collisions cause back breaks. Wong Ka Kui died in 1993 from a back injury caused by his Rabbit and Rooster years clashing. Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee, died of a backbone injury during a movie shoot the same year. When Rabbit meets Rat, Two penalties are created, bringing sex scandals, rheumatism, and sexual disease.

Rabbit-born people offend the year; Rooster-born people clash with it. They usually move and travel more in 2023, so it’s fine to make changes like moving house, changing jobs, or taking trips. However, they should avoid risky sports like fast driving, flying, skin diving, and parachuting. They should wear a Dog pendant to ward off the Rabbit and reduce the clash’s negative effects. In 2023, people born in the Year of the Rooster should avoid traveling directly east.

Two Penalty is between the Rat and the Rabbit. This penalty is likely to bring affairs and possibly incest. This is not as serious as the three penalties and is quite mild.

Uncivilized punishment indicates doing something that should not have been done in the first place, like rape, incest, and affairs, or being disloyal to someone who has treated you well. This appears when you see the following:

Rat – Rabbit

The Sexagenary Cycle

As you learn more about the Hsia calendar and Four Pillars of Destiny, you’ll realize everything repeats every sixty years (120, 180, 240, etc.). So, to predict the future, study the past. For example, Yin Water Rabbit Year was 1963. In 1963, the USA, UK, and USSR signed the Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty to prevent the development of nuclear weapons.

The assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, was 1963’s most significant political event. Two days later, Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald.

Without fire, 2021’s powerful Water Element will continue into 2023. In the Chinese 5 element system, fire symbolizes happiness and positive energy, stimulating economic activity. Without fire, there is less investment confidence and drive. These can cause economic pessimism and stock market declines. As a result, 2022’s economic recovery may slow. This won’t end until 2024. As real fire won’t return until 2025, a significant stock market setback may occur in the autumn and winter of 2023. Real economic recovery won’t come until 2025.

Fire controls air travel. Without fire in 2023, air traffic disasters may increase.

1963 had many air traffic accidents, it seems.

  • Northwest Flight 705 crashed in Florida in 1963, killing 43.
  • On November 8, 1963, a Finnair plane crashed in Aland.
  • TCA Flight 831 crashed near Montreal, killing 118.
  • 8/12 Lightning caused Pan Am flight 214 to crash in Maryland, killing 81 people.

2023 is a Water and Wood year, making earth disasters more likely. On 21/2/1963, a 5.6-magnitude earthquake in Northern Libya killed 300 and injured 500. Bali’s March volcano killed 1500 people. Yugoslavia’s July earthquake killed 1800. On 9/10, a landslide in northern Italy killed over 2000 people. 9/11 Japan coal mine explosion killed 458.

2023 brings Academic Star

“Four Pillars of Destiny” calls Yin Water on Rabbit “Academic Star.” Academic Star represents intelligence.

The Water Rabbit year symbolizes creativity and growth, which injects creative activities into art.

The Rabbit Academic Star supports culture, art, and science and boosts entertainment and restaurant businesses.

Jamie Oliver and Maria Cordero have Academic Star because cooking is an intellectual art.

Health

Wood represents the liver in TCM. It also controls our limbs’ growth, motion, and activity, so people will be more inclined to exercise and play sports. Water element affects the kidneys, urinary system, and sex organs. Water becomes drained and weak when sitting on wood, so supporting water aspects is important.

Fire’s weakness affects its organs. Heart, blood flow, and body vitality are affected. This year’s floods could damage the urinary system, kidneys, and reproductive organs. Water and wood oppose Earth, our stomach, and our digestive system. Support Earth with antioxidants to regulate our cells’ earth elements.

The brain and nervous system are attacked by yin water. This will cause hypertension, mental disorder, ghosts, and psychic killings.

As fire element -r representing blood circulation and energy is associated with gaining weight, its absence in 2023 provides a good chance to lose weight, and a healthy diet will gain popularity. May 1963 saw Coca-Cola’s first diet drink.

Stock Market and Economic Outlook

Fire is happiness and optimism in the Five Elements system, which dominated from 2013-2017. 2020 brought water, not fire. COVID-19 caused global fear. 2021 was another year of strong Water influence, with a dull, cold, grey atmosphere. The Water Rabbit brings growth and optimism to wood in 2023, enabling economic recovery. After gloomy years, 2023 will be a year of business and travel.

With “Age of 9” in 2024, more attention is being paid to the development of metaverse business, including cryptocurrency and NFT…

Speculative activities like these mimic stock market behaviour. Its price level fluctuates confidently, like the stock market. Fire is vital to its success. As 2023 has no fire, the desire to invest in metaverse business and cryptocurrency may wane like the stock market.

Luck of the Different Industries in 2023

The water wood element of 2023 is expected to bring prosperity to the metal and earth industries. Since metal conquers wood, the wood element symbolizes money to the metal industry, including banking, high tech, car, machinery, engineering, beauty, and skincare.

Earth is the second-best industry because it conquers water, which means money. Property, mining, insurance, and software are Earth industries.

Wood is productive, Textiles, media, paper, and magazines are wood competitors. As wood is productive, water industries will benefit from its growth and movement. Communication, transport, and shipping use water.

In Rabbit year, there is no metal, which is the fire industry’s money.

Metal and earth-related industries will do well in the year of the Rabbit.

Banking, machinery, engineering, cars, beauty, and skincare use metal. Property, insurance, mining, high tech…

2023 won’t be a good year for fire and wood.

Global Outlook

The Yin Water Rabbit year, with yin water on top and wood Rabbit below, symbolizes creativity, growth, and calming down. The atmosphere will be cooling and cautious, and recovery from 2020 and 2021 will be slow. As the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the massive water elements of 2020 and 2021 recedes and the world returns to normal, more joyful sentiments will bring back entertainment and travel, wedding celebrations, musical concerts, business, and cultural events, etc. People are liberal and want change, so international tension and social unrest exist. The world is more peaceful, with less open war and more negotiation and compromise.

As in water and fire clash, fire disasters may occur. In 1963, a forest fire in Brazil destroyed 5 million acres and killed 110 people. Indiana gas explosion killed 81 in October. An Ohio nursing home fire killed 63 seniors.

Other

Ancient prophecy predicts big changes in China when “Black Rabbit enters Green Dragon’s Den” in 2023. “Pushing Back Pictures” is a Tang Dynasty mystery prophecy book. 2023 is the “Black Rabbit” year since water is black. 2024 is the Green Wood-Dragon. In 2023 and 2024, China will see a major event. Ancient Chinese scholars believed Fire Horse and Fire Goat years brought disaster and turbulence. Therefore, 2026 and 2027 will be fire horse and fire goat years. In 1126, a year of Red Horse, Jin invaded the Sung Dynasty and captured the Sung Emperors. 1966, the year of Red Horse, began the Cultural Revolution. 2023 is the last year of “Age of 8,” and on February 4, 2024, “Age of 9” begins. This energy shift changes prosperous places and social, economic, and cultural trends.
